Alexander Collins, CFP^®, CEPA^®

Financial Advisor

Alex Collins helps clients simplify complex financial decisions using HCR’s Clarity Formula®, with a focus on small business transitions, exit planning, and investment advisory for high-net-worth families. Alex builds and leads a coordinated team of professional advisors around clients including CPAs, attorneys, and other specialists to help ensure no area of their financial life is left unaddressed. He develops personalized strategies and frameworks designed to keep clients’ assets working efficiently over the long term.

Before joining HCR, Alex was a business performance manager at Amgen, advising senior executives on financial analysis and business strategy. Earlier in his career, he served as chief engineer at Starlight Marine Services, holding an engineering officer’s license with the U.S. Merchant Marine.

Alex earned an MBA from Pepperdine University and a BS in marine engineering from the California Maritime Academy. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA®), holds a certificate in Socially, Environmentally, and Ethically Responsible (SEER) business management, and is pursuing his Chartered Market Technician® (CMT) charter.

Outside of work, Alex enjoys reading, playing guitar, restoring his 1984 Chevrolet El Camino, and golfing when he can. He lives with his wife, dog, and newborn.
